Do-It-Yourself home renovation enthusiasts, as well as those who worked in the construction trade may have been exposed to asbestos while working with the popular construction and building materials. Many of these products were made with asbestos during the late 1970's as the projects they were to be used in necessary that they are heat and fire resistant. They include insulation, roofing, siding, joint compound, ceiling tiles, floor coverings and much more. Unfortunately, when any of these products have been cut, sawed filed, or sanded, asbestos fibers were released into the air. In most cases, those working with products not to use the proper precautions, as the asbestos companies withheld information about the health risks of asbestos for many years.
